Violinist Pavel Vernikov was a pupil of David Oïstrakh and Semjon Snitkovski. Winner of numerous competitions, he won the Munich ARD Prize before embarking on an international career that took him to some of the greatest classical stages, accompanied by an array of prestigious artists. A passionate teacher and mentor, Pavel Vernikov gives frequent masterclasses all over the world and sits on the jury of several international competitions. Today he is a professor at the Conservatory of the University of Vienna, the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne (HEMU, Sion site), and the Scuola di Musica de Fiesole in Italy. Since 2013 he has held the position of artistic director of the Sion Festival.
