Bastien Vivès

Born in 1984, the cartoonist Bastien Vivès leads of a generation of authors who like to mix Franco-Belgian comic style with Asian manga and video games. With Le Goût du Chlore, winner of the Angoulême “Revelation Essential” Prize in 2009, he established his style, based on the fusion of these influences but marked by a strong and original personality. This first great success was confirmed by the great public and critical reception of Polina (“Grand Prix de la critique” in 2012, adapted to the cinema by the choreographer Angelin Preljocaj), Le Chemisier and, more recently, Quatorze juillet.
