Born in 1989, soprano Julia Lezhneva studied at the Moscow Conservatory. In 2009, she won the Mirjam Helin competition in Helsinki and, the following year, the Paris Opera Competition, where she became the youngest candidate ever admitted. Revealed to the general public in 2010, at the Classical Brit Awards where she appeared at the invitation of Kiri Te Kanawa, she has since had a brilliant career, both in concert and in opera. She has been applauded at the Royal Opera House in London, Lincoln Center in New York, Bunka Kaikan in Tokyo – and in many other vocal music hotspots.
