Since its first concert as the “Society of Acoustic Art” in 1985, the Klangforum Wien has created nearly 500 new pieces, written by composers from three continents. This is because the group, made up of 24 musicians, places at the heart of its artistic policy the development of creation and the influence of contemporary music. A rich discography testifies to this pioneering activity, and just over 70 discs, distinguished by an incalculable number of prizes and awards, have been recorded by the ensemble.
